Chapter 2 - Opposites Coexist Together

Ugly exists only when
Beauty is beauty,
Evil exists only when
Kindness is kindness.
Empty and non-empty are created together,
Difficult and easy complete one and another,
Long and short form together,
High and low lean on each other,
Music and voice harmonize together,
First and second follow each other.

Thus, the true Daoist,
Does without doing,
Teaches without teaching.
As it is.

Create but not to have,
Be but not to be,
Persevere but not to hold,
By letting go,
It will stay.

天下皆知美之为美，斯恶矣；皆知善之为善，斯不善矣。 故有无相生，难易相成，长短相形，高下相倾，音声相和，前后相随…… 是以圣人处无为之事，行不言之教，万物作焉而不辞，生而不有，为而不恃，功成而不居。 夫唯不居，是以不去。
