Chapter 5 - What is Benevolence When We Are All The Same

To heaven and earth,
There is no difference between a dog and anything else.
To the true Daoist,
There is no difference between a dog and citizens of the world.
On this earth,
We can observe that kite in the wind.
Flexible yet unbending;
Moves with and not against.
To preserve that inner peace;
Isn't it better than that is all knowing.

天地不仁，以万物为刍狗；圣人不仁，以百姓为刍狗。天地之间，其犹橐龠乎？虚而不屈，动而俞出。多闻数穷，不若守于中。
